If you look up the Diplomat Hotel in Baguio on the internet, countless horror stories and “ghost” sightings will appear. Many people claim that they have had a supernatural encounter while visiting the beautiful tourist attraction at the City of Pines. One of which is a story coming from Facebook.

According to the page Ronald Olmedo Travels, one user claims that his aunts and her friends were photographed with a ghost. The group who was visiting the Diplomat Hotel at that time wanted to take a must-have photo within the hotel’s windows. Of course, all of their trip photos were uploaded on social media. How else can you end a trip?
As they posed at the hotel’s window, one netizen noticed that there is an unfamiliar woman in between two aunts whose names are Lisa and Nenet. The rest of them realized that there is indeed an old woman in the picture. Needless to say, they were shocked.
The nephew then said that the “ghost’s” photobomb couldn’t possibly be edited because the oldies who took and uploaded the photo didn’t know how to manipulate images that well. Well, it could be another tourist, couldn’t it?
Unfortunately, we could no longer investigate its credibility furthermore since the post has now been deleted from the page.

According to multiple sources, during World War II, many Filipino refugees stayed at the Diplomat hotel to hide from Japanese forces. Unfortunately, they were hit by multiple explosives, ending numerous lives. Aside from this, nuns and priests were also said to be beheaded in the area, while countless children were massacred.
After its reconstruction in 1947, some sources claim that the hotel caught fire, causing many of the guests to perish. And even when the hotel was in business, numerous staff and guests reportedly said that they’ve heard windows and doors banging, including loud screams.
For us skeptics out there, there is only one way to debunk or prove this mystery. A quick trip to this “haunted” hotel won’t hurt, would it? You’ll never know what life-changing mystery you might discover.
