With all the viral weddings happening this summer, this one might be the craziest. Last May 16, a woman about to give birth to her child tied the knot with her husband in the hospital bed. But wait, the crazy didn’t end there. A woman, who was also in labor, officiated the wedding. I told you it was insane!
Sushma Dwivedi Jindal was injected with an epidural in her spine to ease her labor pains when she found out that a couple was looking for someone who can wed them. Coincidentally, Jidal was ordained through the internet.

Soon enough, that news reached the ears of other medical staff. A doctor asked her if she can wed the two lovebirds down the hall, and of course, Jindal agreed!
“I was like ‘let’s do it’. They’re in a bind and it’s the right thing to do,” Jindal said.
The bride and groom, Brianna and Casey Walko, originally planned to get married before their baby was born. But alas, their plan were derailed when the woman’s water broke three weeks prior the baby’s due date. But because the hospital’s chaplain wasn’t licensed to marry couples, Brianna and Casey lost hope.
Fortunately, the nurses had a good surprise waiting for the couple as they introduced Jindal to the soon-to-be parents. Brianna immediately took out the marriage license they prepared for their supposed May 17 wedding.

At 12:15 am, Casey walked down the “isle” of the hospital room, while the nurses held flowers around them. Shortly after, the two were officially married.
“I tried to sound as official and ministerial as possible. I wanted them to feel like they were having a nice wedding, not like they were being married by some crazy lady in the next room who was loopy from an epidural,” Jindal explained.
On the same day, Jindal safely gave birth to her child Nayan and a couple of hours after, Brianna delivered baby Riley.
Funny how fate sometimes works, isn’t it?
