An ‘Overly sexy’ uniform costs a Thai nurse her job

Being forced to quit your job is probably one of the most disheartening things that could happen to anyone – at least, from a professional standpoint. However, a 26-year-old Thai nurse named Parichat ‘Pang’ Chastri took her tribulation in stride after she was asked to leave her at a private hospital.

This happened after photos of Pang wearing her nursing uniform were published on the social media page ‘Thai Nurse Lovers Association’. The young Thai nurse was seen wearing the lilac uniform of the hospital she was working for.

Although the post and the garment itself wasn’t revealing in any way, her uniform’s fit and the length of her skirt appeared to be “too sexy” for other people’s liking. Some even claimed that her uniform seemed purposely made to accentuate her slim figure.

Pang’s critics accused her of bringing shame to the nursing profession. Many claimed that her uniform was disrespectful and inappropriate.

Amid the backlash, Pang remained dignified and issued a public apology regarding her uniform.

“I do not want trouble. It happened and I was responsible.”

She also extended her apologies to the Thailand Nursing and Midwifery Council as well as the hospital she was working for. She explained that she holds the image of the hospital in high regard. Aside from an apology, the Thai nurse voluntarily resigned from her post, saying she needed to improve herself.

Pang said that the incident made her feel responsible for protecting the reputation of the hospital and the nursing profession.

“I understood them, and I didn’t want it to be a big deal. So, I took responsibility by resigning.”

After leaving her job, Pang has since moved forward. There aren’t a lot of updates about her nursing career on her Facebook page, but her posts suggest that she is busy managing her online store that sells shoes.
