Michael V., bearing the real name Beethoven del Valle Bunagan, is the multi-sleeved artist that all of us are aware of and admire deeply. Even as a rapper, Michael V. has experienced huge success with the song’s heavy radio play and two albums followed it on 1992 and 1994. He was a good rapper, indeed! However, it was through his original single entitled “Sinaktan Mo ang Puso Ko” where he had commercial success. This song was dubbed by many as the unofficial anthem for the heartbroken.
By 1995, Bitoy has already started performing in GMA Network’s Bubble Gang where he played various roles and still does at this point. The show is the longest-running sketch comedy show on Philippine television. The show shot up to popularity for their parodies of television commercials, politicians and current events. Bitoy is the creative director and a mainstay, and he said that the idea was something he picked up from ordinary Filipinos.
Bitoy ventured into noontime hosting and was part of Eat Bulaga! from year 2003 until 2016. He has done many other things since, including vlogging on YouTube. In one of his recent vlogs, the comedian used the platform to discuss some of his opinions about the truth in showbiz industry. Many fans asked him about moving to ABS-CBN, as many stars from GMA-7 and vice versa has done this and was completely common in the showbiz industry. He then went on to express his wish for network contracts to be abolished, saying:
He continued. When asked about his departure from Eat Bulaga, the artist clarified that they are all in good terms and don’t have any beef going on in between them. He even added that:
“From time to time tinatawagan pa rin ako ng Bulaga to host, it just happens na hindi lang talaga nagtutugma yung schedule, medyo busy pa rin. Pero open yung line namin ng [Eat] Bulaga, so no problem dun sa part na yun.”
